The things to do and see while in Uganda includes lots of adventure activities you can do within the Wildlife Parks and Reserves. Most trips go beyond and includes Kampala, Entebbe, Jinja, and the Ssese Islands. Though Uganda is most renowned for gorilla tourism, the country’s attractions are much more than the mountain gorillas! The country is home to impressive chimpanzees as well as monkeys. The wildlife within the national parks, world landmarks, great scenery and unique culture that you will take a look at will make your journey not only interesting but also memorable. Here are some tourist activities or adventures you can engage in while in Uganda;

Go on gorilla tracking adventure though you will need to buy a permit which must be booked long time ahead due to limited availability .With a permit in hand, you are allowed 1 hour on very close hand of a group of the highly endangered mountain gorilla in their natural habitat.

Go for White-water rafting and kayaking on the Nile. Uganda is a world class rafting and kayaking destination and several companies arrange trips to the Nile to have peaceful family trips to very adventurous grade 5 tandem kayaking & rafting.

Go on a Safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Murchison Falls National Park or Kidepo Forest National Park. You will enjoy the game drives in the above parks.

Visit the Sipi falls, about 1 hour from Mbale. It’s a beautiful little town on top of a hill, sporting fantastic views on and hikes to waterfalls. If you don’t feel like having a guide, tell them that you’d like to do it yourself and eventually they will leave you alone.

Visit the Crater Lakes region in Kabarole District near Fort Portal. It is an area with many old extinguishes craters turned into many breathtaking landscapes.

Experienced rafters from Adrift take clients down the Nile River from Bujagali falls in Jinja, through some awesome rapids in inflatable boats. Not for the faint hearted but a good adrenaline rush for those needing it. Excursions can be half day, full day and also a two-day safari down the Victoria Nile.
